1927: Greece 1 Drachma, UNIQUE HANDPAINTED essay for a fiscal stamp designed by the British printer Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Ltd. On reverse is the date stamp ”3 JUN 1927”. The revenue stamp of exceptional beauty illustrates: The Hermes of Praxiteles or the Hermes of Olympia which is an ancient Greek sculpture of Hermes discovered in 1877 in the ruins of the Temple of Hera, Olympia, in Greece. It is displayed at the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. It is traditionally attributed to Praxiteles and dated to the 4th century BC.
