1855 DAGO (HIIUMAA) ISLAND - CRIMEA WAR: Letter + cover written from ship cruiser ”Copack” ”Off the Island of Dago” and dated 1st May 1855, sent to London via Danzig and Ostende (endorsed in m/s), bearing Danzig '11/5' double-ring d/s on front, London '15 May 1855' arrival datestamps on the reverse, fine. It can be assumed that at that time there was a Blockade of the Gulf, vessels turned back from Russian Ports and the main Baltic fleet still frozen in. Please note that the cover arrived London from Danzig in 4 days but required 10 days from the ship to Danzig. AN EXTREMELY RARE CRIMEA WAR HISTORY LETTER.
