1945 FREE POSTAGE PERIOD: Two stampless covers from Kuala Lumpur to the U.S.A. (25 Sep. 45, despatch and red Postage Paid c.d.s.) and to Scotland (1 Oct 45) resp., used during the short Postage Free period after WW II and before the BMA MALAYA stamps came into use, i.e. from 17th September 1945, when Sir Ralph Hone the Chief Civil Affairs Officer introduced this Free Postage for letters and newspapers under 1oz. unregistered, and the 19th October 1945 when the BMA stamps came into use. A fine and scarce pair of covers.
