1915. AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN NAVY WWI. 1915, “TABORI POSTAI LEVELEZOLAP” multi lingual military card to an address in ZOMBOR, written by a sailor onboard the S. M. S. “BODROG”, handstamped “Hadiszolgalat/ Portomentes” in black (FRANK FREE), with ship’s cachet in pale purple alongside. Very scarce thus. SMS “BODROG” was launched in 1904, and based at Zemun at the start of WWI, served along the Danube River, reaching up to Odessa. On 31 October 1918, grounded and seized by Yugoslavia as war booty, renamed the “Sava” in 1920, and served until after WWII.
