The Valparaiso cds alongside is an essay for a new date stamp type which is unrecorded in the Brinkgreve and West handbook. VERY FEW COVERS OF THE RAYED STAR POSTMARK ARE KNOWN AND IN COMBINATION WITH THIS EXPERIMENTAL DATE STAMP PROBABLY UNIQUE. Note in feb. 1985 (lot 6142) another Rayed Star cover ex Galvez sold in Wiesbaden for 5200 DM, described as one of two known.
