1949: Cover from Ohio, USA to Corner Brook, Newfoundland franked by single US 1938 3 c. violet (Scott 807) tied by 'Toledo & Huntington RPO', taxed with 1946/49 Newfoundland Postage Due 1 c. green (perf 11), 2 c. vermilion (perf. 11x9), 3 c. ultramarine (perf. 11x9) and 4 c. orange perforated 11x9 (3) tied by 'Corner Brook / Nfld.' cds's (May 28) in black. The cover is this highly taxed as the 18 c. due would amount to three underpaid covers at double the deficiency. A very spectacular use up franking of NFLD postage due stamps in Corner Brook two month after it united with Canada. VERY RARE.
