1970: parcel card sent to Italy franked with 1965 high value 500 M in very fine bloc of eight (Roman architecture: Antonius Pius temple in Sabratha) with RARE MANUSCRIPT OVERPRINT OF THE WORD KINGDOM OF LIBYA (used after declaration of the Arab Republik, this local overprint is mentioned in Michel but unpriced) and supplementary franking tied by ”TRIPOLI PARCEL ACCEPTANCE LIBYA 28.9.1970”cds. At arrival in Italy a pair of parcel postage due stamps was applied ”Italia pacchi sul bollettino” cancelled ”ROMA PACCHI DOMICILIO 14.10.1970” A RARE USAGE OF THESE OVERPRINTED STAMPS UNPRICED IN MICHEL AND UNKNOWN IN MINT CONDITION. The overprinted stamps are in perfect condition, but some of the normal stamps have wrinkles.
