1916-17, Two illustrated envelopes sent registered to Switzerland with WWI censor marks, i.e. 1916 cover from Les Fils de M.Cicurel & Cie., Cairo (picture on front) to Basle franked by two singles of 1914 10m. tied by Cairo '13.IV.16' cds and bearing framed ”PASSED/CENSOR/B” h/s in rose, as well as 1917 cover from Mauard & Cie., Cairo (picture on back) to St. Gallen franked by vertical strip of three and single of 1914 5m. tied by Cairo '3.X.17' cds and bearing framed ”PASSED/CENSOR/A” h/s in blue plus deleted h/s ”L.O.” in double oval, both with respective arrival datestamp on back. A fresh, fine and most attractive pair of illustrated envelopes. In addition a third commercial envelope sent registered from Sabtiya, Cairo to Switzerland in 1929.
