1855 ca.: Entire letter from Colombia to New York via Aspinwall, Panama by ”STEAM SHIP” (handstamp in black), ”FORWARDED BY/RAMON LEON SANCHEZ/CARTAGENA N.G.” (oval handstamp in red) and ”FORWARDED BY/Geo.W.FLETCHER/ASPINWALL N.G.” (oval handstamp in red), endorsed 'Via Aspinwall' in m/s and circled tax mark ”30” alongside. The markings were stamped by the U.S. Consul of PANAMA to indicate that the letter circulated with a contract from the U.S. Postal Service.

1855 c.a.: COLOMBIA a NEW YORK. Encaminada por FORWARDED BY/RAMON LEON SANCHEZ/CARTAGENA y FORWARDED BY/GEO. W. FLETCHER/ASPINWALL, ambas en rojo y narca STEAM/SHIP y de tasa ”30”. Estas marcas, fueron estampadas por el U.S. CONSUL en PANAMA para indicar que la carta circulaba con contrato del Correo U.S.A., muy rara.
