1861ff, Cape Triangle, 1853 issue, 4 pence dark blue on slightly blued paper, fresh colour, somewhat touched resp. loupe margin left, below overmargined, with indistinct cancellation on small letter from Cape Town to Simon's Bay (today Simon's Town). This was the central base of the Royal Navy in Africa until 1975, and the addressee of the letter was Baldwin Wake Walker, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Navy at the Cape of Good Hope. The letter is therefore very interesting both philatelically and maritime-militarily, on the reverse two oval postmarks "CAPE TOWN", expertised Georg Bühler. SG for no. 4 on cover 680 GBP+.
1861ff., Kapdreieck, erste Ausgabe, 4 Pence dunkelblau auf leicht geblautem Papier, farbfrisches Stück, etwas berührt bzw. Lupenrand links, unten überrandig, mit undeutlicher Entwertung auf kleinem Brief aus Kapstadt nach Simon´s Bay (heute Simon´s Town). Dort war bis 1975 der zentrale Stützpunkt der Royal Navy in Afrika, und der Adressat des Briefes war Baldwin Wake Walker, Oberkommandierender der Royal Navy am Kap der Guten Hoffnung. Der Brief ist daher sowohl philatelistisch als auch maritim-militärisch sehr interessant, rs. zwei ovale Aufgabestempel "CAPE TOWN", geprüft Georg Bühler. SG für Nr. 4 auf Brief mindestens 680 GBP.
