1915-17 ”The Walshe covers”: Specialized collection of near to 100 covers all from F.W.H. Walshe, a Lieutenant-Colonel and later Colonel, written from Gallipoli and Egypt during World War I, also from other places on the way to the several military sites, with covers from Alexandria, Mudros and Cape Helles on his way to Gallipoli in 1915, again from Alexandria and several envelopes from Shepheard's Hotel Cairo (with resp. datestamps) when his Division returned to Egypt in January 1916, followed by covers (incl. early ones written end of April 1916) from the ”Anzac” Mountain Division (Australian-New Zealand Army Corps) which he directed, also he used envelopes of the Canadian Pacific Railway Co. and others, furthermore covers from the Canal Defences etc., some with remarkable and scarce datestamps (according to John Firebrace) and censor marks.
