Los Nr. 2662

Togo Anglo-French Occupation, 1914, 10 Pfenning with watermark, overprinted with the individual setting Gibbs 1b (showing a spacing between Anglo and French of slightly more than 2 1/2 mm and Togo has a narrow then a wide O as in setting 1a, but the O in OCCUPATION is wide). The fresh unused without gum stamp has several perforation flaws (could be easily repaired for esthetic reasons) and is otherwise in good condition. MINT INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS ARE RARITIES OF THE BRITISH OCCUPATION ISSUES, the Gibbs handbook mentions: these individual overprints virtually do not exist in unused condition. I have only recorded one unused copy of the 5 Pf value overprinted with setting 1 b . ONLY TWO UNUSED SINGLES (both with small faults) OF OUR STAMP ARE KNOWN, we sold the other one in our Feb. 2015 sale for 2550 EUR. Pascal Scheller certificate. SG H3 variety, Yvert 34 variety. (Katalog-Nr.: 3 I Abart)
