With the following lots we are auctioning single lots, collections and lots, the proceeds of which will be donated without exception to the Philatelic Library of Hamburg.
Rising operating costs and ever-shrinking grants from the Foundation for the Promotion of Philately and Postal History had led to the Philatelic Library of Hamburg being threatened with the financial collapse.
An appeal for donations in the fundraising group brought help. Some interesting stamp items were also collected, with the stipulation to be sold by public auction.
We were happy to offer our support for this project. Many of you know that the company Auction Galleries Hamburg, formerly Schwanke, has traditionally been committed to promote philatelic literature and the company supports the Philatelic Library of Hamburg e.V. to the best of its ability.
All “library lots” are marked with the signet of the Hamburg institution, the little clever owl. We ask you for good bids!
