The air boat landed in a sand storm on Lake Ramadi instead of Lake Habbaniyah, where most of the bags of mail were spread. On reverse perforated etiquette ”POST AND TELEGRAPH DEPARTMENT / NEW ZEALAND” marked oval ”CHIEF POST OFFICE / TIMARU / 23 DEC 1938”, flap below has violet ”Received in damaged condition”.
