1852, 40c centesimi pale blue (CELESTE) without period after value, unused without gum (as usual), showing three wide margins and the full marginal line at bottom. A very fine example of ONE OF THE RAREST UNUSED STAMPS OF THE ITALIAN STATES OF WHICH LESS THAN TEN ARE KNOWN. The rare pale blue colour comes from the first printing of the first issue and almost no unused survived.
